Abstract:Piezo type mechanosensitive ion channel component 1(Piezo1) is a member of the mechanogated cation channel protein family, which can acutely sense the subtle mechanical force fluctuations in the external environment of cells. Based on this, Piezo1 can finely regulate the signal transduction inside the cell, thus exerting its unique physiological regulatory role. Piezo1 play an indispensable role in the process of complex physiological activities and pathological changes in the liver, and its influence ranges widely, including the regulation of bile metabolism, inflammatory response, and fibrosis. This article reviews the diverse functions of Piezo1 and the underlying mechanism of action in liver diseases, aiming to provide new ideas and inspirations for the exploration of the pathogenesis, optimization of clinical diagnostic strategies, innovation of treatment methods, and improvement of prognosis evaluation system in the field of liver diseases.
